FlightSafety to Field Devices for Smaller Helicopters
Look for FlightSafety International to start field simulators and flight training devices for smaller helicopters starting in 2007. Operators have been pushing for more versatile training options, such as transportable flight training devices that can be moved from one operating base to another. They want higher fidelity training but without the travel expenses and lost productivity involved in sending pilots to courses at outside training centers. FlightSafety has been working with major offshore and EMS operators in identifying the devices that would be of most interest. Plans likely will include fielding a full-motion Eurocopter EC135 simulator by the fourth quarter of 2007.
