Eurocopter Denies Indian Deal is Blocked
Eurocopter is denying that its contract to supply the Indian army with 197 light utility helicopters has been cancelled. In numerous statements to the media, the European consortium said it has never received notification of a change in the status of the contract, valued at about $600, for AS355C3 Fennecs. "There is no official statement regarding the cancellation," Eurocopter's senior vice president for Asia sales, Norbert Ducrot. Said. “We have no official information.” On Dec. 6, India’s defense ministry said it was re-bidding the contract following protests from Bell Helicopter over elimination of its 407-based offer.
