Era Orders 20 Eurocopters for  Offshore, New EMS Services

Era Helicopters has selected three different Eurocopter models in a 20-aircraft order. The Lake Charles, La-based company will purchase eight intermediate, twin-turbine EC145s , eight light, twin-turbines EC135s, and four single-turbine AS350B2s. Deliveries are to begin next year. In addition to helping it meet the high demand for offshore oil-and-gas support in the Gulf of Mexico, Era will use the aircraft for its expansion into the U.S. air medical market. Era parent Seacor Holdings late last year bought the EMS division of Keystone Helicopter. Era's fleet currently includes Eurocopter EC120s, AS350Bs, EC135s, and BO105s. Additionally, the company has four EC225s on order for delivery in 2008-2009. For related news
