EASA Approves MD900 Filter System

Aerospace Filtration Systems (AFS) has obtained an EASA supplemental type certificate (STC) for its inlet barrier filter (IBF) system on the MD Helicopters MD900/902 Explorer series. With the IBF, helicopters can operate with no engine inlet imposed flight or gross weight restrictions. According to AFS, a Donaldson Aerospace and Defense subsidiary, the system is ideal for corporate, EMS, law enforcement and fire/utility operators.
