Bristow Books Record Profit, Eyes Bigger Fleet

Following on its most profitable year ever, the Bristow Group aims to double its revenue to $1.5 billion in 2011 (from $674 million in 2005) by entering into new country markets and expanding its helicopter fleet. The company’s revenue rose nearly 17 percent, to $897.9 million, and its income jumped more than 28 percent, to $74.2 million, in fiscal 2007, which ended March 31. The Houston-based parent of Air Logistics and Bristow Helicopters is one of the world’s largest providers of helicopter services. It is spending $1 billion to upgrade its fleet of 345 helicopters. In addition, The Houston Chronicle says, it has orders for 31 new helicopters and options for 52 more. The company has seen a dramatic expansion of demand for helicopter services globally from the offshore oil and gas industry.   For related news
