At the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) 2015, Bell Helicopter received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Atlas Air Service, of Lower Saxony, Germany, for two Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters. Atlas Air Service has been an Independent Representative for Bell Helicopter since Oct. 2014.

The Bell 505, which first flew on Nov. 10, 2014, is a five-seat, single-engine, turbine helicopter that incorporates various features to maximize space and crew mobility, including a fully flat floor, increased cabin volume and clam shell doors. Its Turbomeca Arrius 2R engine with dual channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) helps to reduce a pilot's workload. The Bell 505 also features a high inertia rotor system, allowing for safer autorotations.
Bell Helicopter also sold the first Bell 407GXP in Europe. Istanbul-based Saran Aviation’s new aircraft will be outfitted to perform corporate and VIP transport in the region.
Introduced earlier this year at Heli-Expo 2015 in Orlando, Fla., the Bell 407GXP incorporates the reliability and advanced technology of the Bell 407GX platform, while adding an additional 50 pounds of payload capability, coupled with the new M250 Rolls-Royce engine that improves performance and fuel efficiency. The aircraft is also equipped with new avionics features such as a hover performance calculator improvement, as well as a transmission TBO extension of +500 hours that will lower maintenance costs.
