Bell Acquires Aviation Service

Textron subsidiary Bell Helicopter has reached a deal to acquire Aviation Service, a provider of modifications, avionics upgrades and special-mission packages in Prague, Czech Republic. The purchase of Aviation Service, which has annual revenues of around $14 million, “allows us to more rapidly provide support and service to this important region,” says Bell President & CEO John Garrison. The manufacturer plans to generate supplemental type certificates (STCs) while building on Aviation Service’s EASA Part 21 Design Organization and Part 145 Repair Station approvals. Gordon Harveson, general manager of Bell Europe, will take over as head of Aviation Service.
