AWNA to Support Navy H-3s

The U.S. Navy has awarded a $17.35-million contract to AgustaWestland North America (AWNA) to supply depot-level maintenance on three Egyptian Mk-2 variant H-3 helicopters. Refurbishment of the aircraft structure and components is included in the agreement, as well as safety checks. Work will take place at AWNA’s 88,000-square-foot maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Hagerstown, Md. AWNA anticipates re-delivering the H-3s in December 2010.
