ARH Proceeds Despite House Panel Vote
The U.S. House of Representatives’ Defense Appropriations Committee may have voted this week to terminate Fiscal 2008 production funds for the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter. But that U.S. Army program’s prime contractor, Bell Helicopter, says work on the aircraft is proceeding, our sister publication Defense Daily reports. The ARH is to replace the Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. The appropriations committee mark up of the bill stated the program was over budget and behind schedule. Low-rate production was to have begun in December 2006. Neither the full House nor the Senate has acted on the bill. For related news
