Atlantic Islands Get Police Helicopters

The Atlantic islands government of Turks and Caicos has acquired a fleet of five Robinson helicopters for police missions. The helicopters, which will be operated by Silver State Helicopters of the United States, are equipped with a forward-looking infrared sensor, siren, police radios, and a 15-million candlepower searchlight. They are to be used in fighting crime and illegal immigration, as well as mosquito abatement, search and rescue and medical air services. Turks and Caicos has plans to establish a defense force to protect its borders. For related news
