First China Helicopter Exposition Opens

The inaugural China Helicopter Exposition kicks off Thursday in Tianjin, 70 statute miles from Beijing. For this 2011 edition, organizers have booked spaces for about 200 exhibitors, including AgustaWestland, Bell, Eurocopter, Robinson and Sikorsky. They are expecting 2,000 professional visitors and 50,000 from the general public. The show, to be held on a biennial basis, is beginning this year with a display floor of 100,000 square feet.
