Paper Pilot Certificates Expire Next Week

Under FAR 61.19(h), FAA’s Airman Certificates that are printed on paper are set to expire on March 31, in favor of plastic versions that are resistant to counterfeiting. Paper certificates issued under Parts 63 and 65 will expire on March 31, 2013. Pilots can request a new Airman Certificate or change their certificate number through FAA’s website.
