Bell-Boeing MV-22 Makes Dramatic Entrance, Joins Multitude of Rotorcraft

The MV-22 Osprey made a showy entrance at Farnborough, where it touched down after its first trans-Atlantic flight. This year’s show marks the first flying display in the U.K. by the tiltrotor. Joining the U.S, Marines variant tiltrotor on display this week at the show are a host of other rotorcraft, notably Hindustan Aeronautics’ Dhruv advanced light helicopter; Europe’s NH Industries’ NH-90 multi-role helicopter; Finnmeccanica’s Westland AH-64 Apache attack helicopter; AgustaWestland’s AW139 6-ton medium twin helicopter; the A109 Light Utility Helicopter (LUH); and the A129 Mangusta multi-role combat helicopter.
