Deadly TV Helo Crash Under Investigation


Employees of KTRK-TV in Houston, Tex., are still struggling with the Oct. 13 deaths of two colleagues who were operating the Bell 206L4 the station leases from Helicopters Inc of Memphis, Tenn. Pilot John Downhower and photographer Dave Garrett were responding to a police call for a triple shooting when their helicopter went down in the W.G. Jones State Forest. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. “They were very good friends of ours,” an employee of the station’s newsroom told R&W. “We’re still hurting here.” For related news
