Bell Expand Amarillo, Texas Plant

Bell Helicopter is expanding its Military Aircraft Assembly Center there to prepare for ramped up production of UH-1Ys and AH-1Zs for the U.S. Marine Corps and V-22s for the Marines and U.S. Air Force. The company is adding 176,000 sq ft to the plant at Amarillo’s Rick Husband International Airport, bringing the plant 1.095 million sq ft under roof.  Bell and Boeing earlier this year won a multi-year production contract for the V-22 that calls for 167 aircraft over five years, with an annual option for five additional aircraft.  For related news
