RAF Will Send Helos to Afghanistan

Military commanders in Afghanistan will soon get some relief that they have been calling for. A fifth of the RAF's search and rescue helicopter crews will be sent to help British troops in Afghanistan in an attempt to reduce the number of soldiers killed by roadside bombs. However, the cut drastically reduces the RAF’s coverage in Europe, underscoring concerns that worldwide military forces are being stretched too thin because of the War on Terror. The forces are being sent to Helmand Province in Afghanistan, which already have eight British Chinooks, four Royal Navy Sea Kings and four Army Air Corps Lynxes, which are all used to ferry soldiers harmed during battle.
