AW Sees "Secondary" EMS as XX9 Market

The British-Italian manufacturer is aiming the new aircraft program, to be launched later this year, at the growing market for transports of patients in need of highly specialized care. Such missions carry weight and power requirements for the specialized equipment needed to care for the patients in flight. Those argue for an EMS platform larger than the A109S Grand. The XX9 is intended to fill the gap in AW's product between that aircraft and the AW139. For related news
