U.K. County Unit Police Fear Helo Loss

Police and political officials in the United Kingdom county of Wiltshire are fighting to preserve their airborne law enforcement support. Wiltshire’s police currently share use the Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Eurocopter EC145. But rumors abound that the air ambulance may merge with one starting up to a new one that would be based at nearby Bristol, according to the Web site thisiswiltshire.co.uk. It said the police are believed to want to renew the lease for five years, from December 2008. Wiltshire County, whose seat is about 70 nm west (125 km) of London, is home to the Stonehenge archaeological site. For related news
