U.S. Helicopter to Add Fifth S-76

U.S. Helicopter Corp. has gotten a new infusion of cash from its investors. The New York City-based air taxi operator received gross proceeds of $2.5 million for two strategic investors. It is obligated to use about $613,000 to repay a previous loan from one of the investors. The remaining funds will let the company add a Sikorsky Aircraft S-76 to its fleet and “allow us to continue implementing our business plan to achieve our goals of expanding our operations in the New York-area market and beyond” with airline partners Continental and Delta Airlines, said CEO and President Jerry Murphy. U.S. Helicopter operates 290 weekly flights from New York’s Downtown Manhattan Heliport, Atlantic Metroport, JFK International Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport, as well as service from Connecticut’s Bridgeport Sikorsky Memorial Airport.
