Volunteers Ready 3 Hueys for Flight to The Wall

Volunteers at a California aviation museum are working feverishly to get three Hueys ready to fly cross country to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, the newspaper The Press-Enterprise reports. The team at the Wings and Rotors Air Museum in French Valley, Calif. wants to fly the Bell Helicopter UH-1s on a 43-stop trip across the United States, starting May 14 and ending at The Wall Memorial Day weekend. Pilots and crewmembers on the team will stop at Vietnam memorials and air shows along the way. The flight is being made in conjunction with Rolling Thunder and Run to the Wall, organizations of motorcycle enthusiasts who for years have journeyed to the Vietnam Memorial.
