Digital Flight Controls Cleared for Egypt's Seasprites  

Kaman Helicopters says it has passed formal qualification testing of digital automatic flight control system software for the Egyptian SH-2G(E) Super Seasprite. Successful completion of that testing marks a significant milestone in the upgrade program for the Egyptian air force’s nine Super Seasprites, which fly out of their base at Borg El Arab. The upgrades are being conducted under a U.S. foreign military sales program supervised by the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command. Other improvements include a FLIR Systems SAFIRE 2 forward-looking infrared sensor, the ALE-47 countermeasures system, a GE/Smiths health and usage monitoring system, the APN-194 radar altimeter, and the AHS-1000 attitude heading reference system. Kaman expects deliveries of the upgraded aircraft to start in the third quarter.  For related news
