Turkey Inks Deal with AgustaWestland for Mangustas

Turkey’s plan to acquire attack and reconnaissance helicopters for its land forces command has been inked with AgustaWestland. The Turkish undersecretariat for defense industries awarded the contract in March, which calls for the acquisition of 51 AgustaWestland A129 Mangustas with the option of purchasing another 41. Turkey had been in negotiations with Denel of South Africa for its AH-2A Roolvak. Under the program, Tusas Aerospace Industries, the prime contractor, will be responsible for program and contract management and systems integration, production, engineering and integrated logistics support. It will also be responsible for the final design and performance of the aircraft. For related news
