Man Accused of Downing P.D. Helicopter Sues

Albuquerque’s police and Bernalillo County, N.M. sheriff’s officers are being sued by a man once accused of shooting down a sheriff’s helicopter, according to the Associated Press. A former U.S. Marine Corps sharpshooter, Jason Kerns, and his parents allege authorities falsified information against him and withheld evidence that could have exonerated him. Federal prosecutors dropped charges last year against Kerns for firing on and causing the crash of a sheriff’s patrolling MD Helicopters MD-500G on Aug. 6, 2005. Prosecutors said ballistics work was insufficient.    For related news

I know a lot of things were said about Jason, none which I believed. He is a good, caring, and loving person. I wish him the best in life and hope he knows he is always in my prayers and that I will always care about him.
