Texas Aviation Services is set to expand greatly. The Ranger Aerospace subsidiary is investing heavily in shop and technical facilities in anticipation of an influx of work.
"Very little space will be for offices," said Ranger President Steve Townes of the expansion. "Most of the money will be going to the facilities."
Ranger’s latest acquisitions, air-condition and video-system maker Integrated Flight Systems and Platinum Aviation Group, both will be relocated from Reno, Nev. to Texas Aviation Services’ expanded site at Fort Worth, Texas’ Meacham Field.
"They will have their own space," Townes said. "The spot we picked for them will also give them room to grow."
Under Ranger, Keystone Helicopter saw revenue rise 150 percent-plus before it was sold to Sikorsky Aircraft in 2005. Townes is aiming for like gains with Texas Aviation Services. — Evan Sweetman
