Rotorcraft Report: Sikorsky Moves Support Services Field Ops Center to Texas

Sikorsky Support Services has relocated its Field Operation Center from Jacksonville, Fla. to the former NAS Chase Field, Beeville, Texas.
Sikorsky Support Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sikorsky. The Field Operation Center will perform modifications and crash-damage repairs, component repairs, and depot field teams in support of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
"This move is being made to centralize and expand our depot operations, which will provide our customers on the East and West coasts better access to the services that Sikorsky Support Services has to offer," said David Adler, Sikorsky senior vice president, worldwide customer service.
The Beeville Development Authority will fund facility refurbishments at Chase Field as part of its effort to bring aviation and jobs back to the town, Adler said. Sikorsky Support Services estimated more than 60 people will be employed at the Chase Field location by the end of April.
Adler said Sikorsky Support Services will leverage its continuous improvement philosophies, techniques, and supporting technology solutions to eliminate waste, simplify processes, and continuously improve aspects of the aircraft and component repair initiatives. The company’s Lean program will focus on delivering significant improvements in performance and customer satisfaction, he said.
