CSS Expands Repair Capabilities

By Andrew Parker

Bohemia, N.Y.-based Corporate Service Supply & Manufacturing (CSS) has moved into a new 9,200-square-foot facility near Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP). The repair site includes an electronics lab and shop, as well as additional space for heavy equipment, a fuel pump testing area and paint booth. The FAA and EASA-approved accessory repair and overhaul facility provides services on Bell, Eurocopter, MD and Sikorsky models, including for items such as starter generators, inverters, lighting systems, batteries and fuel pumps.

According to CSS President & CEO Gene Portela, the company’s previous location traces back to its founding in 1976, and he described the building’s layout as “dated” and “not set up in a logical way,” with no room for expansion. The new site will “allow us to grow our business while increasing our capabilities,” he said.

In addition to the electronics lab and shop space, CSS installed a new “clean line,” Potela explained. “This includes new ovens, wash booth, stainless steel parts washer, sonic cleaners and steam cleaner,” he said, adding that it allows for a more “complete, thorough” cleaning process.
