FAA Approves Simplex Cleaning System
Portland, Ore.-based Simplex Aerospace has received a supplemental type certificate (STC) for its power line insulator and windmill cleaning systems for the Eurocopter AS350 and AS355. The system features a 180-gallon water tank and a nozzled boom for cleaning rotor tips. According to Simplex, routine care for power line insulators and windmills improves power generation and transmission.
