Flight Vector Software Makes Heli-Expo Debut

Heli-Expo 2012 will mark the first appearance of Sherwood, Ore.-based Softtech’s aircraft software, known as Flight Vector, at the show. Flight Vector will display both its Mapping and Flight & Duty Tracker applications at Booth 8548 in Hall F.

Flight & Duty Tracker works as an online system for FAR Part 135 compliance and duty tracking as well as offering full compliance with FAR 135.63, .247, .261, .263, .265, .267, .271, .293, .297, .299 and others.

The system also allows managers to track pilot training events as well as flight hours and duty times for flight staff. The software is designed to be integrated within an operators safety management system (SMS), so that managers can produce, track and trend SMS reports.

Flight Vector’s Mapping program is an FAA operations specification A021-compliant tool for computing the minimum safe altitude during flights by analyzing terrain and obstacles along the flight route. The two systems meet AC 120-78 requirements for POI and electronic records keeping.

Recently Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters added the Flight & Duty Tracker to its fleet for operations in Boulder City, the south rim of the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. The tour operator integrated the software in January 2012.

Papillon flies a fleet of Eurocopter AS350B3es and EC135s, and Bell 206s and 407s. Flight Vector will be offering demos of both software systems at its Heli-Expo booth.
