Rotorcraft Report: United Rotorcraft to Complete 206L-4 for Southern Helicopters

United Rotorcraft Solutions has been awarded a contract to complete a Bell Helicopter 206L4- for Southern Helicopters.

United Rotorcraft is to customize the LongRanger with an avionics suite that includes a Garmin GPS/Comm GNS420 and Comm-2 SL-40, dual FM radios and the Skyconnect Tracker system. The airframe will be equipped with Bambi Bucket provisions, cargo hook, pulse light and strobe lights, external torque gauge, inlet barrier filter, external oil filter and pilot safety mirrors. United Rotorcraft will paint the exterior to Southern’s specifications.

Southern Helicopters, based in Sunshine, La, offers charter services across the United States that include fire suppression and controlled burning, pipeline and powerline right-of-way surveillance and construction, and precision external load lifts (include seismic and drilling support), as well as motion picture and still aerial camera platforms.

An FAA repair station based in Decatur, Texas, United Rotorcraft provides aircraft completions and refurbishment services, systems integration, maintenance, component overhaul, customized interior installations and exterior finishing on most model helicopters and some fixed-wing aircraft. It also offers FAA approved NVG compatible lighting systems for many model helicopters.
