Heli-Expo Show Day: Goodrich Streamlines Customer Interface

GOODRICH HAS REORGANIZED FOUR HELICOPTER-RElated business units into a single one to give operators a one-stop shop for outfitting their aircraft.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based global supplier of aerospace, defense and homeland security systems and services (Booth 4413) has placed under one umbrella organization the units that deal with de-icing and heating systems, fuel and health management systems, hoists and winches, and sensors.

The umbrella group, Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems, was formed to make it easier for customers to do business with Goodrich and satisfy their systems and mission requirements. Company officials found that the four business units at times had worked at odds in bidding work in which they all might have placed a role.

The umbrella group’s De-Icing and Specialty Systems unit now concentrates on offering helicopter and other operators a variety of ice-protection, potable-water, specialty heated, and heated-composite products.

The Fuel and Utility Systems unit offers fuel measurement and management, fuel-tank wiring harnesses, proximity sensing, vehicle health management, drive shafts, couplings, and hydraulic actuation systems.

The Hoist and Winch unit designs, manufactures, and supports helicopter rescue hoist and cargo aircraft winch systems. Goodrich said it is geographically positioned to serve the needs of the rescue community worldwide.

The Sensor Systems unit provides sensors and sensor-based systems for flight control, flight deck, and engine control systems. Products include air data sensors and SmartProbe systems, angle of attack, stall-warning, and stall-protection systems, electronic flight bags, ice detection systems, inertial sensors, temperature sensors, and video surveillance systems.
