UAVs: The New Narcs?
According to a Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) report, police in the northeastern portion of that region are using unmanned miniature helicopters to track down marijuana farms. The "canna-chopper" is fitted with a sniffer to take air samples from ventilator shafts and chimneys. A specialized analyzer in the sniffer can recognize traces of weed in the air. The UAV can remain airborne for eight hours and was designed by the Dutch. A police representative, Anton de Ronde, told RNW that the first flight [yesterday] morning had already led to the discovery of a cannabis drying shed and a plant cutting facility. For related news
