Rotorcraft Report: FARE Announces Survivor Scholarship
PUBLIC | EMS
The Foundation for Air-Medical Research & Education (FARE) has established a scholarship fund for children who have lost a parent in an air medical accident. Known as the Children’s Scholarship Fund, the program will award two $2,500 scholarships annually to eligible high school seniors entering a college, university or vocational-technical school. Applicants must have at least a C grade point average and be a legal U.S. resident.
"We want to help the families of crew members and patients who have been party to an air medical accident," explained Dawn Mancuso, FARE’s executive director. To underwrite the scholarships, FARE will draw upon its donor base as well as solicit contributions. Applications can be found online at www.fareonline.org. The closing deadline is May 1, 2009; winners will be announced on August 1. FARE is the charitable arm of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS).
