PAC International Completes EC135 ADS-B Certification

Metro Aviation subsidiary PAC International completed the installation of a Garmin GTX-330ES extended squitter transponder system in an Airbus EC135 helicopter, and also received certification for the ADS-B Out solution according to a statement. The installation was completed on an EMS helicopter operated by the PennStar Flight Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ed Wahl, director of maintenance for PAC International called the ADS-B Out certification "provides a source of compliance to these customers to fulfill this mandate by the FAA," referring to the agency's Jan. 1, 2020 mandate for ADS-B Out equipage for aircraft operating in airspace that now requires a Mode C transponder.
