Medical Services in Quebec
It can never be proved that a helicopter ride to the hospital could have saved actress Natasha Richardson's life. But, it did bring to light that very few places in the Quebec region have access to air transport and trauma doctors have argued for it for years. Dr. Michael Churchill Smith, director of professional services at Montreal General Hospital, last week sent an open letter to the citizens of Quebec to the Montreal Gazette. In it, he said that tragedies, like the one that recently befell Richardson, should act as an alarm to Quebec. For related news
