Maryland Legislature's EMS Suggestions

A set of recommendations was created for the state-run EMS helicopter program. This comes on the heels of the four deaths, late last year, from a helicopter crash in Prince George's County. Those recommendations include a second pilot for all flights, program accreditation, maintenance changes, updated safety features and more. The legislative group meets today to review and vote on the recommendations that will be delivered to other committees for a vote. In order to become accredited, the program will have to add a second medical provider on board all EMS flights, which will cost more than $2 million a year alone. For related news
