AS350 B3 recently battled sub-zero temperatures and 70-mph wind gusts during a high-altitude rescue of an injured climber on Mt. McKinley in Alaska. The climber was airlifted from an elevation of 19,833 feet, making the operation one of the highest rescues in Mt. McKinley’s history. The National Park Service-contracted helicopter performs an average of 20–25 evacuations and SAR missions a year.
