NTSB Issues R44 Safety Guideline
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a safety recommendation for Robinson R44s. It calls for Robinson to amend its flight manual and training program to make pilots aware of the potential for mast-rocking. The recommendations follow an NTSB investigation into the hard landing of an Alaska State Trooper helicopter in 2009.
