Garmin Obtains Robinson R44 Approval

Olathe, Kan.-based Garmin (Booth 29) has received an FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) for its G500H installation on the R44 from Robinson Helicopter (Booths 7/8 and 9840). Garmin announced the STC program at last year’s Heli-Expo in Orlando. The approval allows Garmin dealers to install the G500H on models of the R44 equipped with a 10-hole instrument panel. Those with seven or nine-hole panels will be able to install Garmin’s PMA’d parts kit, which will replace the instrument panel with a Garmin-designed assembly optimized for the G500H.
