NORTH Flight to Develop Bell 407 LARS

Under an agreement that involves PHI and Rolls-Royce (Booth 9040), NORTH Flight Data Systems (Booth 3105) has agreed to integrate and certify its lightweight aircraft recording system (LARS) on the Bell 407. The unit provides detailed AHRS data and will interface with the Rolls-Royce M250-C47B’s FADEC system. According to NORTH Flight President Jeff Warner, the Bell 407 follows a successful program to integrate LARS on PHI’s fleet of Eurocopter EC135s. The unit from Arlington, Texas-based NORTH Flight will assist with PHI’s flight data monitoring program to increase the amount of flight statistics gathered. PHI President Lance Bospflug says the ultimate target of the LAMP program “is to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring.”
