Triumph Group has appointed a veteran Raytheon and Lockheed Martin executive as its new president and CEO effective Jan. 4, following an eight-month search by its board of directors that the company called extensive.
Daniel Crowley, who also will serve as a director of the Berwyn, Pennsylvania-headquartered company, which designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories, subassemblies and systems for numerous aerospace manufacturers, including Airbus, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, L-M and L-M’s Sikorsky Aircraft unit.
Crowley succeeds Triumph founder Richard Ill, the company’s CEO since April 8. Ill had resumed that post upon the April departure of CEO Jeff Frisby. (Ill served as CEO from 1983 until his 2012 retirement.)
A 32-year aerospace and defense industry veteran, Crowley served as president of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems from April 2013 until July 30 of this year, when he told the company he would resign effective Dec. 31. (Integrated Defense Systems has annual revenues of $6 billion-plus.) He has been working on a special assignment for Raytheon since then. He previously served as a vice president of Raytheon Company and as president of Raytheon Network Centric Systems.
Before that, Crowley held several positions of increasing responsibility at L-M, the last of which was COO of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
