Computer Problems Ground Australian Chinooks
The Australian Army has locked down a fleet of five Boeing CH-47D Chinooks, including two currently serving in Afghanistan. According to Brigadier Neil Turton, the Defence Department made the decision to suspend operations as a precaution after possible issues were discovered with the advanced flight control systems (AFCS) onboard the Chinooks. Boeing is working with the Defence Department to conduct a technical analysis of the systems.
