First Italian HH-139A Begins Operations
The Italian Air Force has incorporated the first of 10 AgustaWestland HH-139As into its fleet. The helicopters will conduct combat search and rescue (CSAR) missions along with existing HH-212s and HH-3Fs in service.
AgustaWestland plans to hand over the remaining nine HH-139s, which are based on the AW139M, by the end of 2012.
