California County Buys 412EPs for Fire Work

California’s Orange County fire Authority is buying two new Bell Helicopter 412EPs to strengthen its firefighting capabilities, according to The Orange County Register. Edwards and Associates will complete the aircraft under a $21.6 million contract covering purchase and modification of the 412EPs, including installation of night-vision systems. That is part of a wider effort to improve firefighting capabilities by applying the lessons of last year's destructive Santiago fire, which destroyed more than 28,000 acres and 42 structures.
