PORTLAND, OREGON, July 17, 2008 — Simplex Manufacturing Company announced today that it has been certified for quality management system standards and requirements under ISO 9001:2000 with Design and AS9100 Revision B.

Certification Number 08.169.2, issued on June 17, 2008, was the result of a year long program to achieve the standards.  In conjunction with this program, Simplex initiated a new integrated enterprise software system to help manage the various functions of the company.

“Our world has changed over the past few years” commented Simplex Quality Manager William Coleman.  “Due to a changing philosophy in the marketplace and our constantly increasing interaction with the helicopter OEM’s, Simplex determined that its future depended on the successful outcome of this certification program and we are very proud of what we have achieved.”

Founded in 1946, Simplex has built a reputation as the leader in design, manufacturing, and certification of aerial application systems and mission equipment for helicopters. Simplex maintains its industry leadership by incorporating the latest technology in design and manufacturing systems from high-strength, low-weight composite materials to produce cost-effective systems for fire management, powerline maintenance, and other aerial applications.
