Rotorcraft Report: Contracts

Woodward Governor Co. of Rockton, Ill. was awarded $5.8 million as part of a $17.6-million, firm, fixed-price contract by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. for maintenance and overhaul of the fuel control assembly for the UH-60 turbine engine T700. Work will be performed in Rockton and is expected to be complete by April 2012.

Vacco Industries Inc. of South El Monte, Calif., was awarded a delivery order of $7 million by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. as part of a $14.6-million, firm, fixed-price contract for anti-icing valve assemblies for the General Electric T700 engine on the Sikorsky Aircraft Black Hawk. Work will be performed in South El Monte and is expected to be complete by February 2010.

Fabritech Inc., East Alton, Ill., was awarded a $11.3-million, firm, fixed-price contract for spare parts for the CH-47 by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. Work is expected to be complete by May 2010.

Boeing has been awarded a $3-million, U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract to test an innovative main rotor system that promises quieter operation, reduced vibration and potentially improved performance for military helicopters like the AH-64D Apache Longbow.

LaBarge Inc. has been awarded a contract valued at $2.1 million from Kaman Aerospace Corp. to provide wiring harnesses for the Sikorsy Aircraft MH-60S. Kaman is a subcontractor on the Seahawk program to Sikorsky.

Kimball Electronics Group, Jasper, Ind., is being awarded an estimated $15.7-million, firm, fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract by the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Div. for circuit-card assemblies for MH-60s. Work will be performed in Jasper and is expected to be complete by May 2012.

Northrop Grumman Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $10.7-million, cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm, fixed-price contract by the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command for non-recurring engineering design to install a Directed Infrared Countermeasures System (DIRCM) onto CH-46Es. Work will be performed in Rolling Meadows and is expected to be complete in August 2008. This contract was not competitively procured.

CPI Aerostructures Inc. has received two purchase orders from Sikorsky Aircraft for the S-92. supplying search and rescue door provision and completion kits.
