Is Keystone the S-76's New Home?

Look for Sikorsky Aircraft to move all S-76 production out of its Stratford, Conn. headquarters into its Keystone Helicopter subsidiary in Coatesville, Pa. The company has been streamlining production in Stratford to clear the way for a 60 percent ramp-up in H-60 Black Hawk output in the next 3-4 years. President Jeff Pino said that output jumped 90 percent already from 2005 to last year. Sikorsky is producing only basic, or "green," Black Hawks in Stratford, with completion of variants farmed out to its Schweizer Aircraft subsidiary and other sites. (Sikorsky also is now building Black Hawks at its West Palm Beach, Fla. site.) Sikorsky already is completing S-76s at Keystone, which last year gained an FAA production certificate for that type, and plans to move all S-76 production there, according to company officials. Keystone also is pursuing a production certificate for the S-92. For related news
