Automaker Mercedes-Benz is collaborating with Eurocopter to develop a special edition VIP helicopter. The “Mercedes-Benz style” EC145 will incorporate a high-end cabin based on the interior of the R-Class series of cars. A range of colors and materials will be available for operators. Other features will include a multipurpose storage zone in the aft cabin, monitors with DVD players, a partition wall between the cockpit and the cabin, interior lighting resembling the E-Class and S-Class vehicles, and extra storage space. The project originated from the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Como, Italy. Eurocopter says that new Mercedes-Benz style EC145s will be available starting in 4Q11.
