State Dept Orders 11 More S-61Ts

Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) has received the go-ahead to provide another 11 modified S-61s under an existing agreement with the U.S. State Department.

During Heli-Expo 2010 in February, the State Department signed a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract involving up to 110 S-61Ts, which will be used for utility, personnel and cargo transport missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. The first four helicopters are deploying this fall to Afghanistan. Delivery of the 11 new S-61Ts is scheduled to begin in mid-2011. (From November 2010 Rotorcraft Report)
