Ecuadorian Air Force Buys Helos From India

The Ecuadorian air force has purchased seven Dhruv helicopters from India. Six will be used for rescue operations and personnel transport, and the third will be for the exclusive use of Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa. The light, twin-engine, multi-mission Dhruv helicopters were sold by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for $50 million. Five of the aircraft will be assembled at the air base in Guayaquil, Equador.
