Unmanned K-Max Cargo Hours Add Up
Kaman Aerospace and Lockheed Martin’s joint helicopter, the unmanned K-Max, has delivered more than 1 million pounds of cargo for the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan. The two helicopters have flown six missions per day for the past four months, with delivery weights ranging from 4,200 to 28,800 lbs in combat zones. The Marine Corps recently extended K-Max deployment through the end of September 2012.
